The President of the Republic Receives the Credentials of the New New Zealand Ambassador

H.E. Dr. Fuad Masum the President of the Republic received the credentials of Mr. Bradley Sawden the new New Zealand ambassador to Iraq, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, this morning, Tuesday August 8, 2017.
During the meeting, His Excellency stressed on the importance of the relations that tie the two friendly countries and joint cooperation in the fields of trade, industry and agriculture, and the need to expand horizons of joint cooperation between the two countries to cover all fields.
President Masum pointed out New Zealand’s supportive position to Iraq, especially in the country’s fight against the terrorist organization of ISIS, and New Zealand’s active participation in the International Coalition against terrorism and, its contribution in providing humanitarian support for IDPs.
The President also expressed his wishes of success to Ambassador Sawden in his duties as ambassador to his country in Iraq, expressing his support for the mission of New Zealand in Iraq.
For his part, Mr. Sawden the new New Zealand ambassador stressed the importance of the relations between Iraq and New Zealand, citing the importance of reinforcing frameworks of cooperation between the two friendly countries, reiterating his country's support for Iraq in entrenching security, stability and prosperity.
