President Masum Receives PM of Czech

H.E. Dr. Fuad Masum the President of the Republic received Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka the Prime Minister of Czech Republic at the Presidential office in Baghdad today Sunday August 27, 2017, who gave congratulations to His Excellency for the victories of Iraq over terrorism and the liberation of the city of Mosul.
During the meeting, they discussed political and security developments of mutual concern, as well as the historical relations between the two friendly peoples, and the ways to promote them and strengthen them at all levels, and support the acceleration of signing agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries.
While President Masum praised Czech humanitarian and military assistance to Iraq, he stressed the importance of the relations between the two countries at trade, industrial, military and cultural levels, indicating the importance of expanding the horizons of bilateral cooperation to serve the common interests, calling on Czech companies to contribute in the plans to return the displaced people and the reconstruction of Iraq, especially areas liberated from terrorism and called on the Czech government to cancel the remaining debt on Iraq.
His Excellency expressed Iraq's interest in benefiting from the Czech expertise in the fields of refinery construction, development of oil and gas industries and other heavy industries, especially the production of agricultural machinery, automobile industry and road paving.
Mr. President stressed that the Iraqis have proved to the whole world their ability to address and completely eliminate terrorism at all levels, as well as their determination to continue to work on building a free democratic and advanced Iraq, and to establish security and stability in the country.
His Excellency also expressed Iraq's aspiration to rebuild what has been damaged by the control of the terrorist organization of ISIS, pointing out the importance of standing the friendly countries on his side in his projects to develop infrastructure and industrial and agricultural growth.
For his part, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr. Bohoslav Sobotka, stressed his country's quest to establish the best relations with Iraq and open new horizons for fruitful cooperation with Iraq, and reiterated his country's commitment to support Iraq, especially in its war against terrorism.
