Receiving an official invitation to attend the Arab Economic Summit.. The President Receives the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants


H.E. Dr. Barham Salih received Mr. Gubran Basill the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants and the accompanying delegation, in Baghdad today Tuesday December 4th 2018.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Lebanese Foreign Minister delivered an official invitation from the Lebanese President Michel Aoun to Dr. Barham Salih to attend the Arab Economic Summit in Beirut, he also conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the Lebanese President to President Salih on the occasion of assuming his duties officially, Mr. Bassil also expressed his country's keenness to develop relations with Iraq in all fields.
While welcoming the visit, President Salih stressed that Iraq seeks to reach the best relations with its neighbors and its Arab surroundings in his quest to establish a new stage of constructive and fruitful cooperation in all fields, in the interest of the two peoples and the two countries.
His Excellency added that Iraq and Lebanon have close and historical relations, which are dominated by mutual respect and brotherly positions, noting the importance of activating bilateral agreements between the two countries, especially in the economic, educational and tourism fields, and activating the investment sector between the two countries and facilitating the procedures for the entry of Iraqi students and investors in Lebanon, as well as contributing in the reconstruction of liberated areas through a clear and effective participation of Lebanese companies.
President Salih also explained the importance of working to coordinate stands in international forums and positions, especially with regard to the Syrian crisis and work to restore security and stability there.
