President Salih: The Consolidation of Iraqi-Turkish Relations Will Contribute to the Fixation of the Foundations of Peace and Stability in the Region

President Barham Salih stressed that Iraq looks forward to constructive strategic relations with Turkey that achieve the common interests of the two friendly peoples.
During a meeting with Mr. Ben Ali Yildirm the Turkish Parliament Speaker, Thursday, January 3, 2019, on the sidelines of the President’s visit to Turkey, His Excellency indicated the importance of enhancing relations between the two countries and the necessity for joint coordination to expand horizons of cooperation in all fields.
President Salih added that the consolidation of relations between Iraq and Turkey will contribute to the fixation of the foundations of peace and stability in the region, calling on the countries of the region to a serious and frank dialogue to avoid crises and further tension.
For his part, Mr. Yildirim renewed his country's determination to further develop relations between the two sides, reiterating Turkey's support for Iraq and its desire to enhance cooperation and coordination at various levels.
The Turkish Parliament Speaker hosted a dinner banquet in honor of President Barham Salih and his accompanying delegation.
