In the name of Allah the Merciful
On the occasion of the International Women's Day, I extend with great pleasure and happiness, to Iraqi women and to all women of the world, the warmest congratulations and best wishes.
Today, the countries of the world and their peoples celebrate the Day of the icon of society and the nucleus of the family, to highlight the achievements made so far in granting women their due rights, which are imposed by necessity, prescribed by all laws of heaven, and approved by many laws and legislations.
The Women's Day comes this year as we remember the leading role of Iraqi women in the journey of life and their serious efforts they have made to gain their legitimate rights in order to contribute to the building of the Iraqi society, its development, and its prosperity alongside their brother men. And we restore with women a bright history of struggle, development and sacrifice.
Today we face a humanitarian and historical responsibility that urges us to advocate against violence against women, protect and empower them in society.
On this occasion, we hope that women play their vanguard role in building and development as well as in participating in decision-making and holding senior positions within the apparatus of the State.
A salute of pride and appreciation goes to mothers of the martyrs… A tribute of appreciation to the Iraqi women who are patient and creative.
May every year, women in Iraq be safe and well.
Dr. Barham Salih
President of the Republic."
