The President and the King of Jordan Reaffirms the Continued Coordination and Consultation Between the two Countries on Various Issues


President Barham Salih held bilateral talks with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II.
During the meeting at the Basman Palace in the Jordanian Capital Amman, President Salih and King Abdullah stressed on the continued development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, notably the economic, trade, and investment, and the importance of the agreements signed between Jordan and Iraq to promote trade and economic relations in a way that contributes to the revitalization of trade traffic between the two countries.
The President and the Jordanian monarch agreed to continue coordination and consultation on various issues in service of the two brotherly peoples’ interest.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of the outcomes of the tripartite summit between Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq, which was held in Cairo last March, and to build on it to expand the levels of cooperation and coordination among the three countries.
The importance of strengthening the joint Arab action system and uniting Arab and Islamic positions to face the various challenges was also mentioned.
The meeting also conferred about the current regional developments, and efforts made to reach political solutions to the crises in the region, as well as reviewing efforts on war on terror according to a comprehensive approach.
His Majesty affirmed that Jordan stands by brotherly Iraq’s side in enhancing its security and stability and realizing its people's aspirations for further progress and prosperity.
The Jordanian Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate, the Adviser to King for Communication and Coordination, the Director of the General Intelligence, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq, attended the talks on the Jordanian side. 
The Head of the Intelligence Service and the Iraqi ambassador to Amman attended the talks on the Iraqi side
