While Receiving the U.S. Chargé d'affaires, the President: The Iraqi Stance Towards the Crises of the Region Stems from Commitment to its National Policies


President Barham Salih received the U.S. Chargé d'affaires Joey Hood, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad on Sunday June 2, 2019. 
The meeting touched on the latest political developments at the regional and international levels. 
His Excellency emphasized Iraq's keenness to pursue a constructive dialogue when addressing the crises in the region, and to distance from the policies of wars and axes.
The President indicated that Iraq's stance towards the crises of the region stems from the commitment to its national policies and the country’s supreme interest. 
President Salih called for the need that Iraq steer clear from the effects of conflicts and crises in accordance to its national interests for stability and prosperity.
His Excellency stressed the need to establish a stable regional system based on common security system, respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
The President indicated the importance of building balanced relations with all countries on the basis of respect for sovereignty and mutual interests.
The meeting also stressed the depth of the bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States of America, and the need to enhance them in a way that ensures the common interests between the two countries and fulfills the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
