The President Receives the Ambassador of Bahrain to Iraq


President Barham Salih on Sunday, July 14, 2019, received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Iraq Salah al-Maliki, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, after his return from Manama and resumption of his work in Baghdad. 
His Excellency emphasized the deep and close ties between the two brotherly countries, and referred to the need to develop mechanisms of joint action to face emerging challenges as well as to consolidate pillars of security and peace at the regional and international levels. 
The President thanked the position of the King of Bahrain for his support for Iraq and His Majesty’s positive handling the incident of the assault on the headquarters of the Bahraini Embassy. 
President Salih stressed the commitment of the Iraqi State to protect the headquarters of diplomatic missions and embassies operating in Iraq, and provide a secure environment for the performance of their works and tasks.
For his part, Ambassador al-Maliki conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and wishes for success to President Barham Salih. 
He asserted his country's support for Iraq as well as the country’s unity and sovereignty, and Bahrain’s keen desire to enhance bilateral relations and expand horizons of joint cooperation.
