President Receives a Call from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques


President Salih received today a phone call from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. They discussed the latest political and security developments in the region and the bilateral ties between the two fraternal countries.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed KSA's commitment to supporting the stability, security and sovereignty of Iraq. He highlighted the strong relationship which confirm the Kingdom's concern for the security of Iraq and the region, the necessity of keeping Iraq away from regional and international disputes. Furthermore, Iraq shouldn't be a battleground for various political agendas. He emphasized the importance of self-restraint and de-escalating the situation to establish peace and stability in Iraq and the region as well as taking all measures to defuse the crisis and reduce its tension.
His Excellency President Salih thanked His Majesty the King for his care for Iraq, as he emphasized the necessity of completing victory against terror and extremism, supporting sovereignty by adopting an equally neutral policy with all states as well as distancing Iraq from axes policy to achieve the internal security which can bring security and prosperity to the region as a whole.
The two leaders reviewed the bilateral relationship between the two countries. They emphasized the need to enhance their mutual relations in the way that serves the interests and aspirations of the two brotherly nations.
