President Salih mourned today Iraqis on the Anniversary Death of Imam Musa ibn Ja'afar Al-kadhim (Peace be upon them).
The following is the text of condolence:
"Today, we are marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Musa Ibn ja'afar Al-kadhim (Peace be upon them). It inspires us a lesson, gives us the power to endure the difficulties wisely and patiently as well as granting us a lot of insistence to stick to a path of the right, good, and to make sure that there is no deviation from this path.
Muslim in Iraq and in many parts of the Islamic world used to re-commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Imam that will be always remembered. This anniversary makes us uphold noble values. That Imam Musa ibn Ja'afar (P) had sacrificed his life to be continued.
This year, the Iraqis are marking the anniversary death amid extremely complex and challenging circumstances. Perhaps the most serious dangerous threats are to stem and combat the coronavirus epidemic, posing a serious challenge to humanity as whole, requiring a joint effort by all states, international institutions, authorities and peoples.
It is a challenge that we all must deal responsibly with it in the ways which would save the lives of thousands and millions of people, living in different parts of the world, from the scourge of this pandemic.
Our Iraqi people, who have faced bravely and patiently many challenges, could share responsibility with the humanitarian community to preserve individuals' lives. This would be done through commitment and adherence to what have been imposed by heath authorities in the ways that our country and our people are able to overcome the epidemic with minimum loss of human life and suffering.
Let marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Musa Al-kadhim (Peace be upon him) be the motive and incentive to bring all together, thereby promoting State's efforts and health institutions.
On this solemn anniversary, we pray and ask the Almighty to protect and save Iraq and the humanitarian community wherever there are threats or the risks of this epidemic to human health.
All praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds. We ask Allah for help.
President of the Republic, Barham Salih."
