2020/07/30

On Thursday, President Salih congratulated the Iraqi people and the whole Islamic nation on Eid al-Adha.
The President stressed the need for synergies and cooperation to address the challenges facing our country and the impacts of COVID-19 and its economic ramifications, noting the importance of holding early elections as well as restoring confidence to all Iraqis in ensuring that their rights can be exercised fairly.
The following is the text of congratulations:
" On the advent of the festival occasion of Eid al-adha, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to the Iraqi people and the Muslim nation as a whole on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, praying to God to make this Eid as a good omen, beginning of security and peace over our country.
This blessed occasion calls upon all of us to work together, promote synergy and coherence and joint efforts to meet the challenges that our country is currently facing amid coronavirus fear and its consequences on the economic and health situation.
Meanwhile, the national responsibility and duty call upon all political blocs and forces to join hands and act together to meet the demands of our people in a capable and sovereign State.
However, it requires us to strengthen the foundations of reform, combat corruption, provide the necessary services to all citizens, create jobs for our young people and ensure their vital participation in building Iraq and shaping a better future for our generations.
Furthermore, this occasion calls us to hold an early election as well as restoring confidence to all Iraqis in ensuring that their rights can be exercised fairly. Therefore, these are irreversible demands.
We hope that this would help to create an appropriate environment and provide the supplies needed to contribute in building a State of citizenship, equality and justice.
May Almighty Allah make your day a good, loving and happy holiday.
Eid Mubarak, and Every Eid you are fine and in good health.
 Dr. Barham Salih,
President of the Republic."
