President, Receiving Egypt's PM, Affirms Iraq's Eagerness to Promote Cooperation Between the Two Nations to Coordinate Positions Which Would De-escalate Tensions and Establish Peace in the Region
President Salih welcomed today at the Baghdad Palace Egyptian Prime Minister, Mustafa Madbouly.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Salih asked the Egyptian Prime Minister to convey his greetings to President
Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Moreover, he underlined Iraq's eagerness to
enhance bilateral cooperation frameworks between the two countries, strengthen
the work of the Egyptian-Iraqi high committee in addition to moving forward towards further broadening horizons through agreements and protocols signed by both
countries.
The discussion at the meeting confirmed the depth of the historical
relations and friendship between Iraqi and Egyptian peoples, and highlighted
the current development in the mutual relations of both nations as well as the
importance of reinforcing their ties across all fields including economic, political
and security areas.
It was also focused on coordinating stances for establishing
security and stability in the region.
Together, they discussed the recent developments in the Arab and Regional
situations, issues of common concern and Iraqi- Egyptian efforts to enhance the
triangular cooperation frameworks with Jordan.
The two sides agreed and emphasized the importance of continuing
all efforts which aim at combating terrorism and extremism as well as defusing tensions
in the region.
Mr. Madbouly, in turn, conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's greetings to Iraqi President Salih. He asserted that
Egypt has an earnest desire to have further constructive collaboration with Iraq
at different levels so as to achieve the aspirations of the two fraternal
peoples for having progress and stability.
Presedent
