Iraqi President: State's Efforts to establish the rule of law must be supported, and preventing the acts that fell outside the scope of law is the most imperative need


On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with a delegation from the clan leaders of al-A'amiriya neighborhood in Baghdad. The meeting was held at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.
Politics and security situation of al-A'amiriya neighborhood in addition to delivering better service were discussed. Participants agreed how important it was to strengthen security and stability within it.
President Salih commended the great role played by the clans in supporting the efforts of the State, and so it can better enforce the Iraqi law, prevent the acts that fell outside the scope of law and strengthen the social fabric of our society. And all of these are matters of critical importance to Iraq to prevent the country from sliding into the dangerous situation, he said, while noting that the security of the Iraqi capital Baghdad and its inhabitants must be enhanced.
The President hailed the central role played by the Iraqi clans and tribes to achieve community reconciliation, reject violence and the acts that fell outside the scope of law, promote civil peace as well as combating hate speech and sectarianism which aim at sowing the seeds of discord within and between our society.
The visiting delegation briefed president Salih about the current situation in Baghdad and the suburbs of the capital, with focus on the challenges that are faced by the ordinary people.
 President Salih confirmed his support and his enthusiasm to overcome these challenges in order to provide security, safety and services for the local inhabitants there.
The clan elders expressed their appreciation to the President for following their conditions and situations.
