Iraqi President Meets Denmark's Foreign Minister: Iraq Supports Efforts of International Community to Establish Regional Stability, and to Confront Terror, Violence and Climate Change as They Are Common Global Challenges


On Sunday, June 6, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with Danish Foreign Minister, Jeppe Kofod. The meeting took place at al-Salam palace in Baghdad.
Iraq looks forward to working with the fraternal and friendly states and its partners in the international community to strengthen peace, security and stability in the region, with focusing on easing tensions and defusing crises so that regional and international security could be prevailed, President Salih said.
He emphasized that a secure, stable and sovereign Iraq that has balanced relationships with all States is of critical importance for establishing peace and security in the entire region.
International collaboration that aims to address challenges presented by violence and terror are also required to be supported, the President added, while noting how important it was to work towards addressing climate changes and enhancing environmental sustainability as they are today's challenges.
Danish-Iraqi ties were discussed at the meeting, and how to promote the prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries at every level.
Meeting placed emphasis on need to continue the international efforts in the fight against terrorism.
