President Salih Meets Qatar's Tamim: Vital to Strengthen Iraqi- Qatari Relationships in the Ways that Better Serve Interest of Both Nations and Region as well, and Ensure Regional Stability and Security

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with the Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who visited Baghdad to attend the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.
At the outset of the meeting, President Salih welcomed His Highness Sheikh Tamim, while saying that the visit of the Qatar’s Emir to Baghdad is a sign of supporting Iraq and further promoting mutual relations that bond the two fraternal countries and peoples.
Then, he spoke about the importance of fostering the relationships, and working towards having further cooperation across all the fields, in the ways that most benefit the interest of both nations.
Recent developments, and politics related-matters in the region were discussed during the meeting.
Talks focused on the need to ease tensions, defuse crises in the region, in which security and stability could be brought here through having further dialogues.
The both leaders agreed that ensuring regional security will help to pave the way towards promoting economic and commercial cooperation and the prospects for developments of all the States.
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani was glad to visit Baghdad. He announced that Qatar is committed to supporting a secure and stable Iraq as he emphasized his Qatar an earnest desire to further develop ties with Iraq at every level.
Moreover, he praised efforts made by Iraq in order to tackle the crises shaking the region, with a view of rebuilding regional security and stability.
