The President: Boosting Iraq and Italy Ties Is a Matter of Critical Importance, and so these Should Be Promoted for Having Further Fruitful Cooperation at every Level


On Monday, October 22, 2022, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met with the Italian ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Greganti. The meeting took place at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.

Mr. Greganti conveyed the greetings and congratulations of Italy's Government to President Rashid on becoming Iraq's new President.

His Excellency President Rashid, in turn, asked the Italian Ambassador to convey his appreciation to the government of Italy.

In the same vein, he spoke about the close bilateral friendship that bonds the two States and commended the role played by Italy to help Iraq in the fight against the terrorist groups, providing humanitarian aid and cultural cooperation.

Italy will continue to be an unwavering partner in supporting Iraq's security and stability, with a focus on looking ahead to boost joint relations between the two countries, said the Italian Ambassador.
