President Rashid Receives Iranian President's Congratulatory Message

The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received a cable of congratulations from Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on becoming the new President of the Republic of Iraq.

The text of congratulations is as follows:
" In the name of Allah most gracious, most merciful,
His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq,
Abdullatif Jamal Rashid,
I am pleased to extend my warmest and most sincere congratulations on taking Office as the new Iraqi President, and on assigning Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani to form the country's next government.

Fraternal relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq are not limited to geographical boundaries or to the relations between the two Governments but are deeply rooted in the cultural and popular depth of history.

It is therefore, we made every effort to promote, deepen and develop our cooperation between the two friendly peoples.

 A prosperous, sovereign and strong Iraq that can play its central role in the region will have an effective role to bring about regional security.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the political process based on the election in Iraq and will spare no effort to strengthen the brotherhood of the two countries.

While I wish the new government success in achieving prosperity and development in Iraq, I hope that the relations between the two countries will deepen further and further.

I ask God Almighty to grant your Excellency health and success, happiness, and progress to the friendly Muslim Republic of Iraq, the government, and the people as well.
