President Rashid, Turkey's Ambassador discuss Bilateral Relationship

On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ali Reza Guney. The meeting took place at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Guney conveyed the greetings and the best words of congratulations from His Excellency President Erdogan to President Rashid on getting the first term in power as Iraq's new President.

Meanwhile, he wished His Excellency President Rashid all the best and success in discharging the tasks entrusted to him.

Bilateral partnership relations between the two neighbors were discussed during the meeting.

His Excellency President Rashid affirmed the importance of fostering economic growth, and trade cooperation as well as in other fields of collaboration.

However, this should be in the ways that would most serve the two nations' citizens and bring common security and stability, he added.

The Turkish Ambassador, in turn, reiterated Turkey's commitment to helping ensure Iraq's security and stability.

Moreover, he emphasized his country's desire to further develop bilateral ties between Iraq and Turkey and strengthen these in the areas of common concern to realize both peoples' aspirations and the two states as well.
