President Rashid Receives Credentials of Several Ambassadors to Iraq


On Thursday, November 24, 2022, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received the credentials of a number of new accredited Ambassadors to Iraq.

His Excellency President Rashid welcomed the new ambassadors at Baghdad Palace, and they are as follows, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan Mr. Abdul Rahim Sar Al-Khatim, the Japanese Ambassador, Mr Matsumoto Futoshi, Swedish Ambassador, Jessica Svardstrom and the Ambassador of Greece, Mr. Georgios Almanos.

During the meeting held separately with the Ambassadors, bilateral relationships between Iraq and their countries were discussed, and His Excellency President Rashid emphasized that Iraq's foreign policy is based on mutual respect and adopting constructive dialogue, and this is the best way to strengthen ties and expand the horizon of cooperation, in accordance with the common interests to serve the interest of people.

The President wished the Ambassadors would have all the best and every success in discharging their tasks, expressing his readiness to provide support, so as to facilitate their work.

The Ambassadors thanked His Excellency for his good reception while expressing their countries' desires to further strengthen and develop ties with Iraq across all sectors. They underscored that they are determined to make all the necessary efforts on this track.
